The role:

We are looking for a Cybersecurity Specialist to join our fast-growing Fintech and become a key member of the Cybersecurity Team. This role is responsible for protecting our systems, networks, and data from cyber threats by proactively identifying risks, detecting and responding to incidents, and continuously improving our security posture.

The specialist will design and enforce security policies, manage identity and access controls, monitor infrastructure for anomalies, and collaborate with other teams to embed security into our technology stack. He will also support regulatory compliance efforts and promote a strong security culture across the organization.

What will I be doing?

1. Threat Monitoring and Detection

• • • Continuously monitor systems, networks, and applications for suspicious activity.
    • SIEM management (Security Information and Event Management) tools to analyze logs and generate alerts.

2. Incident Response and Management

• • • • Respond to security incidents such as phishing, malware, or unauthorized access.
      • Contain, eradicate, and recover affected systems.
        

3. Risk Assessment

• • Identify technical vulnerabilities and operational risks.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and propose mitigation plans.
    
    

4. Security Testing

• • Coordinate or perform penetration tests.
  • Conduct vulnerability scans across infrastructure, applications, and services.
    
    

5. Policy Development and Enforcement

• • Define and implement security policies, access control guidelines, and acceptable use standards.
  • Ensure compliance with security frameworks and industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS).
    
    

6. Identity and Access Management (IAM)

• • Manage user access to systems and sensitive data using role-based access controls.
  • Enforce least privilege principles and implement multi-factor authentication (MFA).
    
    

7. Security Awareness and Training

• • Develop and deliver cybersecurity awareness programs to all employees.
  • Promote best practices for digital safety and security.
    
    

8. Cross-Team Collaboration

• • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and product teams to embed security into system design (security by design).
  • Review architecture and code to identify and mitigate potential risks.
    
    

9. Regulatory Compliance and Audits

• • Support internal and external audits.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations (e.g., Fintech Law, GDPR).

Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, IT Security or similar related technical field. (A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.)
  
  
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, including areas such as:
• Experience working in fintech, banking, or other regulated environments is a strong plus.
  
  
• Relevant certifications are desirable, such as:
  

CompTIA Security+

CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)

OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional)

CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)

AWS/Azure/GCP Security certifications
