The Role
We are seeking a Credit Risk Jr Manager to join our fast-growing fintech at Clip. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of potential borrowers and ensuring the integrity of our credit decisions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to manage the company's risk portfolio while delivering an efficient, seamless lending experience to our customers. Your contributions will be vital in supporting the company's growth and maintaining a strong, sustainable credit framework.
What will I be doing?
- Strategy Development: Design and implement credit risk strategies using advanced analytical tools and methodologies, such as predictive segmentation, score-based decision matrices, statistical experiments (e.g., A/B tests), and tailored simulations using performance data.
- Portfolio Management: Oversee the performance of the loan portfolio, track repayments, identify early signs of delinquency, and take proactive steps to minimize risk exposure.
- Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on credit portfolio performance, risk exposure, and key metrics for internal stakeholders and senior management.
- Credit Evaluation: Evaluate the creditworthiness of loan applicants through a comprehensive analysis of financial statements, credit reports, and other pertinent information to assess their ability to repay loans.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct in-depth risk analysis to recommend suitable loan terms, interest rates, and credit limits based on the borrower's financial health and credit history.
- Underwriting: Review and approve loan applications, ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory guidelines, and best industry practices.
- Data Analysis: Use data analytics tools to analyze trends, identify patterns, and assess risk within the lending portfolio, conducting root cause analysis to uncover improvement opportunities.
- Credit Portfolio Monitoring: Continuously monitor the credit portfolio, providing insights on segmentation, risk exposure, and performance metrics to senior management and other relevant stakeholders.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with sales, operations, and customer support teams to share insights and recommend improvements in the lending process and customer experience.
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 6 or more years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting, or risk assessment in the financial services industry.
- Experience in credit and collection management information.
- Proficiency in financial statement analysis and credit risk modeling.
- Knowledge of Mexican financial regulations and lending practices.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
Technical Knowledge
- Proven expertise in using credit risk analysis within the financial industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of creating clear and concise summary documents of ongoing processes and providing detailed instructions to team members.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently, ensuring timely completion.
