The Role
The Lending Business Specialist is responsible for supporting the management of Lending projects and demands, evaluating the potential and monitoring the results of each implementation, providing improvement insights, and seeking strategies.
He/She will work directly with the product, technology, finance departments, and stakeholders, working on project structuring, from documentation to monitoring its results. Their vision should be broad and logical, anticipating the impact of projects in their portfolio on other areas and vice versa, projects from other areas on our products. Their ability to manage and communicate each line of action is key to efficient management of work fronts.
He/She will have a great challenge this year: the implementation of a cloud-based Core Loan system, paving the way for several other future applications.
What will I be doing?

- Execution of Project Fronts:
- Oversee the execution of project fronts, ensuring clear alignments, control of activities, and well-defined goals.
- Ensure that project phases are executed according to plan, with proper task allocation and deadlines.
- Define or Lead the Definition of Business Rules:
- Lead or collaborate with business stakeholders to define the key business rules that will guide the project’s implementation.
- Ensure these business rules are effectively integrated into the project’s scope and execution.
- Write and Detail User Stories / Scopes / Rules:
- Develop detailed user stories that reflect the project requirements, including clear acceptance criteria.
- Define project scopes, including all relevant business rules, ensuring they are understood and actionable by the development teams.
- Create detailed documentation of rules, tasks, and user requirements for project teams to follow.
- Lead and/or Support the Testing and Validation Process:
- Guide the testing process to ensure that all requirements and business rules are accurately validated.
- Work with quality assurance (QA) teams to define testing criteria and support validation efforts.
- Ensure any necessary changes or adjustments are identified early in the testing phase.
- Guide Project Teams in Task Execution:
- Provide clear guidance to project teams on task execution and priorities, ensuring teams stay on track and aligned with the overall project goals.
- Offer ongoing support to resolve challenges and ensure smooth progress during project implementation.
- Maintain Strong Alignment with Partners and Stakeholders:
- Ensure constant communication with all relevant partners and stakeholders to ensure alignment on goals, objectives, and project changes.
- Regularly update stakeholders on project progress, risks, and any changes to the scope or timeline.
- Ensure Execution Deadlines and Align Changes:
- Closely monitor project deadlines and ensure that tasks are executed on time.
- Lead the process of aligning any changes to the project scope, ensuring the project remains on track despite any adjustments.
- Consolidate and Keep Support Materials Up to Date:
- Maintain and update project documentation, including presentations, spreadsheets, roadmaps, requirements, and definitions.
- Ensure all project-related materials are consistent, accurate, and accessible to all team members and stakeholders.
- Regularly consolidate information and ensure project tracking documents reflect current project status.
- Execution of Project Fronts:
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related field (MBA or advanced degree is a plus).
- +3 years of experience as a Business or Product Analyst/Specialist, PO or PM, preferably in Fintechs or traditional Banking industry.
- Experience in projects or actions roadmaps (plan, execute, update, followups).
- Knowledge of lending products (product management) credit risk management, underwriting, and regulatory compliance in the Mexican market (preferable).
Technical:
- Project Methodologies (waterfall and agile using Kanban and Scrum)
- Knowledge of project control and presentation tools (Jira, Google Docs, Presentations)
- KPI and OKR analysis
- Functional Loan Rules (Simulation, origination, amortization, payment, default, collections)
- Knowledge of core loan systems (desirable)
- Google Docs
- Jira Software or similar
