The Role

We are looking for a Fraud Prevention Strategy Analyst to be part of this incredible and rapidly growing fintech. At Clip this candidate will be a key member of the Risk & Fraud Prevention team with responsibility to deploy Risk Management strategies and capabilities to ensure delivery on approval rate and fraud loss targets, while managing customer experience.

S/He will provide feedback in a professional manner, you must be able to step back and communicate both the strategic and immediate aspects implications on priorities and must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

What will I be doing?

  • Develop and implement comprehensive fraud detection strategies, fraud analysis models and business rules that balance fraud loss, cost of execution, and customer experience.
  • Scaling of risks, vulnerabilities, deviations and relevant cases.
  • Analyze root cause to identify opportunities to predict, prevent and mitigate risk within processes and performance.
  • Responsible for approval and fraud management with issuers and acquirers
  • Support in the integration of new merchants in the internal checkout
  • Resolve suspicious operations according to their monitoring and documentation.
  • Partner with Data Science, Engineering, Product, Operations, and Business teams to conceive, design, and monitor fraud strategies to mitigate fraud risk in the most precise manner possible; recommend which product features to build and why.
  • Challenge Machine Learning model performances and develop KPIs.

Ideal Candidate

  • A in Actuary, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or similar technical studies.
  • Master in Data Mining, Data Science.
  • Minimum experience of 3 years performing manual and real-time monitoring of bank card transactions, identifying
  • patterns (indispensable).
  • Extensive knowledge of card-not-present (CNP) and card-present fraud schemes in Mexico and Latin America, its risk prevention methods and the detection tools for all types of environments.
  • Proven experience in checkout products in the card-not-present payment business
  • Experience in processing and managing approval rates with issuers and acquirers
  • Experience mitigating online fraud not only related to payments, such as account takeover, phishing, online card testing, etc.
  • Desirable to have experience in forensic investigations

Technical Knowledge

  • Proven knowledge on risk analytics (Credit and fraud prevention), in the financial industry (preferably in credit cards).
  • Strong knowledge of the financial products and services industry in Mexico, including key players and trends.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to create clear and concise summary documents of ongoing processes and provide detailed instructions to team members.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and provide guidance, make recommendations, and/or escalate arising issues timely.
  • Strong organization skills and ability to handle multiple projects efficiently in order to ensure projects are completed timely.
  • Able to interact and communicate effectively with all management levels to assess business needs in a professional manner.
